The Pre-Prep children went on their first school trip recently to Greenacres farm. The children were thrilled with how close the animals came and got a real sense of what it was like on the farm.

The day started with much excitement as the children boarded the coach to begin their journey to the farm. After arriving the children split into two groups and went to their first exciting activities. The first group were treated to a petting talk in ‘Animal Corner’. The children, and adults, were amazed as they were introduced to Bovril the owl, Pepe the skunk and Marshmallow the chicken, learning lots of interesting facts and information. The second group went on a walk around the farm meeting a range of unique animals including wolves, wallabies, meerkats and ferrets.

After a short play in the soft play barn and some lunch both groups went on an exciting tractor ride around the fields of Greenacres. Again they got to meet a wide variety of animals, some familiar and some not so. As the tractor journeyed around the fields, we were introduced to donkeys, racing goats, highland cows, horses, pigs and Alpacas. The children were thrilled with how close the animals came and got a real sense of what it was like on the farm. A fantastic day was had by all and the children have been talking about their experiences ever since.
