Sports results for Prep and Seniors for week ending 20th November.

Highlights

  • The Seniors Orienteering Team took part in the British Orienteering Championships at the weekend. Congratulations go to the team who placed second overall in the Small Secondary Schools category (see below for breakdown)
  • Boys U-18A Golf Team beat Merchant Taylor's School at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club
  • The Year 3 Netball team won their first competitive fixture against King's School, Chester.

Prep

Rugby Festival at Merchant Taylor's School, Crosby
Year 5 rugby team took part in a Festival at Merchant Taylor's School. Just a festival so no overall winner but lots of rugby played. The team played very well, scored plenty of tries and held our own against all other AJIS Schools and the team improved in tackling as the afternoon progressed.
Year 3 Football & Netball against King's Chester
Unfortunately, the football teams lost against strong opposition but, highlight of the week, was the convincing victory for the girls in the netball. In their first ever game, they won 5 - 1 and can't wait for their next game.

Year 6 Football and Netball against Bolton School
A successful trip for the footballers with a 3 - 1 victory for the A team, a 10 - 1 victory for the B team and a 4 - 4 draw for the C team. Unfortunately, the netballers did not fare so well losing both of their games to strong opposition.

Seniors

British Orienteering Championships
The orienteering club participated in the annual British Orienteering Championships on Saturday, held in Stowe Park in Buckinghamshire. Thirteen orienteers from Years 7 to Year 11 took part, each in their own age category.

The Year 11 boys and girls came first in the team's category, with a notable performance from Isla Barnes, who came 2nd in the Year 11 Girls' category.

The School gained second place overall in the Small Secondary Schools category. Congratulations to the whole team.
