Sports results for Prep and Seniors - October half-term and week beginning 1st November.
Prep
Wed 20th Oct - U11 TRFC Six-Aside Football.
We won all 3 games on a very wet afternooon at Bidston Tennis Centre including a close 2-1 victory over Greasby Junior School. We now look forward to the Finals afternoon in November.
Thur 21st Oct - Cross-Country at Arrowe Park.
A number of pupils raced in the Cross Country at Arrowe Park during half-term with the boys winning the race overall and the girls placed fourth - congratulations to them all.
Year 4 Girls - Erin Laing-Gibbons placed 32nd
Year 4 Boys - Sam McCormick placed 8th
Year 5 Girls - Hannah Washington placed 17th
Year 5 Boys - Ethan Poynton placed 3rd
Year 6 Girls - Georgia Alcock placed 4th, Arabella Jones placed 8th, Elena Trochez placed 11th
Year 6 Boys - Leonardo Hirons placed 3rd, Nathaniel Glascott-Tull placed 4th, Thomas Huxley placed 11th
It is hoped that some of the harriers will represent Wirral and the School at the regional race in Liverpool at the end of November and the Nationals in the future.
Tues 2nd Nov - U11 Football v Bidston Avenue in Houlihan Cup
After a competitive start, we took control of the game and eventually won 8 - 2. Highlights were hat-tricks for Leonardo H and Teddy B.
Wed 3rd Nov - U11 B Football v Terra Nova.
The team put up a very spirited fight against a strong Terra Nova A team holding out until well into the final quarter of the match before losing out.
Wed 3rd Nov - U11 A team squad played in the TRFC Futsal tournament at the Futsal Hub at Prenton Park. Played really well as a squad and managed to get to the final against Christ The King School. In an extremely close final, and despite Birkenhead hitting the post and crossbar, the score finished 0 - 0 and so 'Golden Goal' was played. And, in the final seconds, unfortunately for Birkenhead, the opposition scored to win the competition making Birkenhead School runners-up.
Thurs 4th Nov - U10 Football v Bidston Village in the Corgi Cup.
A very strong and dominant performance resulted in a comprehensive 6 - 0 victory meaning Birkenhead move on to the next round.
Thurs 4th Nov - U10 and U11 Netball v Queen's Chester.
In the U11 games, unfortunately, Birkenhead were up against two strong teams and came out second in both matches although the B team put up a strong fight and were unlucky to lose by the single goal. Better news for the U10s who won both games with strong and determined performances.
