We hear from our Director of Sport, Mr Taylor, on the support provided by Bridging Finance Solutions over the last academic year.

Yet again, Bridging Finance have been fantastic supporters of Birkenhead School sport in 2023-24.
The sponsorship offered by Bridging Finance allowed us to extend and enhance our excellent sporting provision by buying equipment and team wear to supplement our strong sporting tradition and being a leading educational sports provider. For instance, we have purchased items such as the cricket FrogBox, which means we will be able to screen live cricket games. In addition, the partnership with Gilbert/Gray-Nicolls means we can provide professional-style team wear for our pupils, ensuring they look their best when stepping onto the pitch against peer schools, such as with our new U15 and U16 rugby kits.
We have invested in cricket this year with new match stumps (see below) and batting feeding machines to develop our batting in the lower school. This had a positive effect in the summer term, contributing to a successful cricket season. The netball teams also received new Gilbert match balls with the school and Bridging Finance logos for our competitive fixtures.
Finally, thanks to Bridging Finance for sponsoring the Sports Prize Night awards and the new Sports Day House Trophy, which culminates the sporting year as we reward our pupils for their exploits and achievements throughout the year.

The items covered by Bridging Finance this year include:
- Purchase of a FrogBox video camera for screening live cricket matches at the school on our YouTube channel for the Sri Lanka cricket tour and beyond.
- Brand new match stumps from Gray-Nicolls for all three of the school's cricket ovals (see photo).
- Bola Bowling Machines stand.
- Softball cricket feeding machine.
- Paceman bowling machine.
- Subscriptions to the VEO cameras bought last year. VEO technology, the ultimate team sports camera, allows us to record and live stream our matches for post-game analysis.
- Netball match balls with the school logo for all netball teams.
- Two sets of rugby shirts for the U15 and U16 rugby teams for cup competitions.
- Sponsorship of an inter-house Sports Day Trophy.
- Sponsorship of the Sports Awards prize night.
