Annual sports tours take the name of Birkenhead school to distant shores including Namibia, South Africa, Barbados, Antigua, Canada and South America. Other sports trips have included skiing to destinations such as Canada.
Sports Tour to Namibia & South Africa 2019

Hockey and Netball in South Africa 2018
Boys and Girls from the hockey and netball teams are set to visit South Africa to play matches in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban and Cape Town, as well as to sightsee and to take donations to two important South African charities, Guild Cottage and Door of Hope Children’s Mission.

Cricket in Barbados 2017
Cricketers at Birkenhead School enjoyed a spectacular summer on their tour to Barbados. The group had the opportunity of a lifetime as they spent two weeks in Barbados, playing matches as part of the Sir Garry Sobers Cricket Tournament. Click for News Story

The First and Second rugby teams flew to Johannesburg for two weeks of rugby matches, sightseeing and exploration. Click for News Story

Annual Sports Personality Dinner
The School hosts an annual ‘Sports Personality Dinner’ to raise funds for the sports tours, as well as for local charities in the touring destinations. Local businesses support the event and every year there is a guest speaker to host the event.
Past speakers have included former World Snooker Champion, John Parrott, MBE and former England Cricket Captain, David Gower, OBE.
