The Extended Project Qualification offers students the opportunity to embark on a largely self-directed and self-motivated project and is equivalent to half an A level. The qualification is available as an option through the Sixth Form ‘Beyond the Curriculum’ programme and allows students to develop independent learning skills that support students as they make the move to University and employment.
As part of the qualification, students choose a topic or research question that they wish to research in great depth. This allows our Sixth Formers to develop the sort of independent learning skills that universities and employers look upon so favourably, and is another example of the many enrichment opportunities afforded to them here at Birkenhead School.
